A friend is more than someone who wipes
Your tears when you are sad.
They are more than the person you call when someone makes you incredibly mad.
A true friend does not have to be a person
you spend time with every weekend,
Or even someone who lives
Just around the bend.
A friend can be a person with whom
You shared a single moment,
But you felt like it was just for
You they were sent.
Friendship does not always have to
Build up over years
It, like love, sometimes
Just appears.
So always remember that
Each person you meet
Has the potential to be someone
Especially interesting and neat.
Try not to judge those who
Don’t seen your "type,"
Because their personality,
May fit yours just right.
Hello Marij (Butterfly)
I expected you to respond to my entry on Older People neglect from the heart and you did.
We have a saying: "A friend in need is a friend indeed."
Here is a Roger & Hammerstein’s (of Sound of Music fame) unpublished work:
‘A bell is not a bell until you ring it
A song is not a song until you sing it
Love in your heart was not put there to stay
Love isn’t love ’till you’ve given it away.’
I wish my knowledge of your language was as good as your knowledge of English. You are doing just fine. I can fully understand you. There is no need to aplogise or denigrate yourself.
I saw your work on Sri Lanka. It is very august and worthy. But to me – charity must begin from home i.e. from the Country of your origin.
We in England have Older People poverty and child poverty (to name the few) to tackle. There is where my heart is – to tackle settled disadvantage.
I am very encouraged by your support and I want you to know that I am here for you too – unconditionally.
Love
Anant

Hey Sweeti!
This post really hit home for me. It seems that even through the spacing world I have met friends of such magnitude. And it is amazing how much a good friend, or even a nice comment can change our attitude. I know that is what your comments do for me.
And if I may say, you speak wonderful English (even better than myself most times!).
I hope all is well with Michael.
Wishing you all the best,
Kelsey
Hi Sweeti
Superb entry keep it up
" Friends are God’s way of taking care of us."
Many people will walk in and out of your life, but only true friends will leave footprints in your heart. 🙂
Will try to update my space…2maro
Anyway take care
Arun
Hey hey marij
Tc Marianne
Pssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssst????? Knock Knock???
Hey pal!!! Thanks you for all your lovely comments. I have been a bit tied up with my job issues. have an interview this Saturday…….hope there will be many more!
I like the car on my Space, but for now that particular one is only a concept car. But it’s based on the same car made in the 1960’s and is considered by most to be the most beautful car ever made.
Thank you for always leaving such sweet comments, I always smile when I read them!
Take care my friend and I do hope Michael is doing well too.
PS: I really liked the verse……….it’s not often that people write about friends in such a nice way, it’s so true and so sweet!
Take care my friend…………..!!!

Hello Marij (Butterfly)
I am deeply touched by your compliments encouraging the heart. I find word totally inadequate to express my gratitude to you.
We have an expression for a condition in Britain – it called being gobsmacked.
I am merely doing what comes naturally to me. And I do it will all my heart or not at all. I have been brought up to revere, respect and protect older people within the extended family units where practically and economically possible.
I had no idea that my words has such a profound effect upon you and your friend. Please give him an unconditional hug from me and do let me know his name.
To help you and your other friends (whom I consider fellow travelling souls) I recall a beautiful poem called My Motto which I have subconsciously adopted it since teenage years. It is the right time to share it with you and your vulnerable friends.
If I can stop one heart from breaking,I shall not live in vain:If I can ease one life the aching,Or cool one pain,Or help one fainting robinUnto his nest again,I shall not live in vain. — Emily Dickinson
One never knows that amongst those innumerable travelling souls – which one might be the God himself or herself? Even if that may not be the case – what is wrong in adopting the above motto as ones own?
Just keep on doing your duty to the best of your ability. At the end of the day my desk may not be clear – but my conscience always is.
Love to all
Anant
ICK!Hahahaha. You know when I went to meet that doctor who told me I better go into detox he told me I will need one close friend to be there, for some sort of support. I told him, "Sorry doc, got none." "None?" "None, not a single one."He just looked at me weirdly. I could have plugged him in the eye but hey, he’s a doctor so what’s the use.
All the best to Michael.

Hello Sweeti!
It is allways a good surprise when I find someone sharing the same interests and with a great blog.

Good evening Marij
You are an ordinary woman with an extraordinary heart. That is a gift really essential in the work you do. Empathy for those disadvantaged with the ability to overcome service barriers and an ability to go beyond expectations is a gift that those whom you serve will wholeheartedly bless time and time again..
Collection of such heartfelt blessing by those disadvantaged is the only true accreditation one ought to expect to share with one’s maker. Nothing else matters!
I am sure you’ll agree.

That’s so true! And thank you for your comment, Marij… I think you’re absolutely gorgeous, inside and out.

Hey Sweeti! How you doing beautiful lady?
Have to say that is the most touching post ive ever read.
I agree friends are so important in life. I have friends who i call my closest friends and ive never even met them in real life.

Hi Marij,
Yes, I do agree with Ameeta! I also have 2 best friends ever, who im still yet to meet in real life! Modern day technology has changed a lot of the ways we do things in life, and helped us all become closer, and it has bridged the gap that once existed! Thank goodness for technology, as we now have friends from all over the world!
Thanx for being my gud friend, Marij….
Hugs for u….
Adrian.
Very nice and good to read such a post.
