The Big BANG!!!

We certainly know that our universe exists, however, this knowledge alone has not satisfied mankind’s quest for further understanding. Our curiosity has led us to question our place in this universe and furthermore, the place of the universe itself. Throughout time we have asked ourselves these questions: How did our universe begin? How old is our universe? How did matter come to exist? Obviously, these are not simple questions and throughout our brief history on this planet much time and effort has been spent looking for some clue. Yet, after all this energy has been expended, much of what we know is still only speculation.

About 15 billion years ago a tremendous explosion started the expansion of the universe. This explosion is known as the Big Bang. At the point of this event all of the matter and energy of space was contained at one point. What exisisted prior to this event is completely unknown and is a matter of pure speculation. This occurance was not a conventional explosion but rather an event filling all of space with all of the particles of the embryonic universe rushing away from each other. The Big Bang actually consisted of an explosion of space within itself unlike an explosion of a bomb were fragments are thrown outward. The galaxies were not all clumped together, but rather the Big Bang lay the foundations for the universe….

thx to mr  Edwin Hubble we know all this   ( good to know when u  do a quiz…….)

haha remember the name…) U score points   ……

But  what we ask  ourselves   ..when there is gonna be  another Big Bang….the moment  this earth is gonna explode…

is it for our  kids  kids kids….Or  for us to expierence????  Lets hope that we can save this world….We are  killing him right now..

slowly….day by day…. arent we????

Ah, apart from romance, Bollywood does serve a lot of angry young man kinda movies where the hero is wronged and then sets out to take on the might of every baddie and emerge victorious with not a scratch on his body 🙂 Movies of late have moved away from such stereotypes and there are more slice of life kinda movies. The fight against corruption is sometimes told in creative ways like in "Rang de Basanti" which mixes into the story a smattering of the freedom struggle as well. "Lagaan" starring Aamir Khan mixed up the British Raj, taxes and a game of cricket in a celebration of the victory of the underdog over the establishment.
Enjoy your off n have a great day!

Hi Sweeti! The Universe is so fascinating. The pics you have posted are great, and I too have often thought of writing on this subject, but didn’t. I love seeing images of outer space and would have loved to be an astronaut (as every child dreams!)I don’t think it will take the Big Bang to destroy Earth. Mankind is doing self-service, and seeing to it that our wonderful planet is destroyed while our species still inhabit the planet.Bye for now…hope things are gone great for you!Love, Ruma.

hello there sweeti. well awesome post but just one thing i would like to add, The Holy Quran 1400 years ago already stated about the bog bang theory. It is already there in the Holy Quran. Do take a look at this link and it has teh verses from the Quran which describes the creation of this universe and the big bang theory

Rambo’s the right one…remove Rambo, put in Rajni, add a few songs, some tearful "sentimental" outbursts, a lot of bollywood masala n voila…it’s a super hit movie 🙂 Enjoy the weekend!

Great entry and info!  This gives testimony to the mighty work and hand of God.
I don’t think there is going to be another "big bang" though…:-)

    Hello marijke!
Wow! What an awesome post. The biggest riddle in the universe, the beginning of time. And thanks to Mr Hubble and those who endeavor to answer the question through research and scientific explanations. And Stephen Hawkings is now carryong on the unfinished work of Hubble as well as Einstein. Maybe, we will have more answers from the scientific world one day.

In the meantime, I would like to mention, perhaps one of the earliest text on the Big Bang and the beginning of universe is in the Hymn of Creation in the Rig Veda, the original Hindu Vedic scriptures of more than 3,000 years ago…

       " In the beginning,
         there was neither existence
         nor non-existence.
         All this world was unmanifest energy;
         The One breathed, without breath,
         by Its own power
         Nothing else was there…"
                              (Hymn of Creation, Rig Veda)

The "One breathed" mentioned above has often been refered to as the "Big Bang". Before that… it was unmanifest energy. The rest is history as we know it!

Love lots to you and yours too! Be well, be happy and be blessed.
    Billy
