As i said   i wanted to put positiv things   …i tried to find   hmmm  I did my best …..  i did  really i did…but but

well  in stead
i read abt  Modern Slavery

5 centry BC  Athens in Greece  had  15 % of the population living as slave…then  Rome  the city counted 2 million slaves…
and i can go on and on   but now we are living in 2008   Yes????? or still  in stone age???

2008
There are 10.000  or even 100.000 slaves  and  female slave, working long days, hunger, sexual abuse, mal treatment, and social discrimination.
In west African Niger .
For women the only thing that counts is their beauty and body   and for the men   their strenght.
In the South of US  u can buy an illegal  Mexican  to work on ur land  for 600 dollar.

an ex female  slave was  interviewd  she said…I hate my master  from the deepest of my heart  what he did to me…
i dont have to go in details…

This is just a lil example..there is so much more…Young girls from poor countries, they are  promised a good job.in a far away country ..and where  do they end
in sexindustry Thats modern slavery..

Well i have some good news….in Belgium 11 babies  were born in one street. Knipoogje

They can have a football team  Name of the street  team  LOL…yeppppp JongenMeisje

Hi Sweeti!          Like you, I am trying very hard to read and think positive. However, the news channels and media does not allow one to live too long in this sort of frame of mind. I am not at all surprised at slavery as you have mentioned here, because in Third World countries such as ours, we get to hear and see all sorts of horrifying things. There is rape, molestation, eve-teasing ( a term which means violation of  privacy and man-handling of women in public places), dowry deaths and bride burning, female foeticide, etc.         Yesterday I was feeling so depressed….a young man, who was also a father and husband in a family, died at a young age of 50. The family was known to us for two decades. One can only say that this is God’s Will.Bye for now…and all the best to the babies who were born on one street. Hope they are messengers of God and will make the Earth a better and kinder place to live in.Love, Ruma.

  3. Jorge says:

Reading this kind of news makes it tough to be positive, so what you now have to do is find a "good" story to help balance the horror you found. Be well,
    J.

  10. Rama says:

Yes what you have said is correct. We have to just open the newspapaer to read only about all the bad things that are happening in full detail, the same is of the TV. Also something that might have just happened these news paper people have to make such a big fuss about it, as if it is routinely happening, they try to keep peoples’ interest alive by maginifying little incidents, that needs no mention in such abig way.
    Love, Rama.

  11. Michiko's says:

  12. Alien Hunter says:

    Hello Sweeti,

Finding good news is hard to do. Too many people only want to hear the horrors of life and we call ourselves civilized. There is good news around.

A little good news (maybe) is some women have even taken their abilities and are outsourcing them – an especially strange one is in Anand. It takes out-sourcing to a whole new level. Anand, India has a growing business with surrogate mothers, pioneers in the growing field of outsourced pregnancies. Some of the women are earning 15 years worth of wages in only 9 months. Infertile couples are now able to have chldren of their "own."

    Have a great week.

    Peace & Blessings.

What an interesting blog this.  Poverty is such a sad and desperate thing in life and drives people to do desperate things just to simply survive another day but I can’t imagine much worse than living as a slave.
Hope all is going good with you,
    Hugs, Nikki
