To Luxor and on the river Nile

One hour flight  from CAiro to Luxor.

The m/s Al Nabilatan cruise boat was waiting for us. The cabins were same as in a hotel. Nice beds  TV ( why they have tv in the room ?? Its National Geographic outside on the deck 24 hrs) and  a  bathroom  Not that big but comfortable.

The visits

Thebe  the World  of the death .We visited the kings and queens valley .Even now workers are there checking the sand and stones for more hidden treasures.

The  most  remarkable monument of the Egyptian architecture is the temple of Queen Hatsjepoetin in Deir El Bahari..complete chopped out of the mountain. Can u imagine ?

The temple is dedicated to Hathor the goddess of joy and love.

Impressive a joy for the eye.

Colossuses of Memnon  presenting King Amenofis III aside his biggest deadtemple.

Tired but fullfilled we enjoyed our lunch. Eventough Egypt is Muslim country we enjoyed a fresh beer. Brand named Sakara –Sakara Beer is only available in one version, which is Sakara Gold. It is well known for its large can.
Alcohol content: 4.0 %
Bitterness: 18 EBU
Height: Bottle 282 mm, Can 170

Ohhh Forgot to mention….we had chicken,,,rice….vegetables..and a wonderful desert.

In the afternoon

The temple of Karnak  existing from three parts. The large temple of Amon  thats linked with  the temple of Moet  by a sfinx galery en the  Sanctum of Montoe.

Late in the evening  our cruiser sailes to Esna Edfoe and Kom Ombo.

In Edfoe we vist a temple 3 centry  BC. A masterpiece of Ptolemaisch  architecture.

We sail for Com Ombo and visit the temple  dedicated to 2 gods  Fertility God Sobek wth  the crocodile head and the left part  is of the God of war Haroeris.

Hi MJ,The TV is for the idiots who does not know how to enjoy the cruise. Even in India there is an place called ‘Elephanta caves’. Its near Bombay. It is fully carved out of rock mountain. And it is biggest and oldest in the world. I just feel like packing my bag and catch a flight to Egypt. Thanks for taking me on a conducted trip.Hey, How come you never tried camel ride? or, did you forget to mention it?

  4. sillygloop says:

Seems like u’re soaking in a lot of history! When I’m travelling, TV programming would be the least thing of interest apart from the news for which a TV placed in a common area would be fine I guess.

  5. Adrian says:

For sure, the Egyptian culture is a ‘rich’ one!

Oh..Dick Cheney is being serious! (lol)
