Paul Satkunanayagam

A colleague of mine gave me a magazine from Terre des hommes this morning
A very interesting interview took my attention.

THE SILENT WAR IN SRI LANKA
The war in Sri Lanka is over after a 26 year fight. In Mai this year the last Tiger rebels were defeated by the government army.

Father Paul Satkunanayagam takes care of ex child soldiers and visited refugee camps.

Those camps are inaccessable for outsiders. Ppl were desperate but asked him to go and tell their story to the outside world.
Father Paul is a Sri Lankan from Batticaloa and well known by everybody living in the northeast of sri lanka
WHat he did during the war and still does for those kids …well he has a place in my heart.Rode roos

pls read more of him on this website and that the ppl in the north are still fighting for a normal life.
Cos  even the war is over….the pain is still there.
Father Paul U got my attention.  Thumbs up!!!

Yes, the war in Sri Lanka is a deep and complicated thing. I remember living in Tamil Nadu where often enough the Tamil Tigers came and took things by force…they were much feared yet at the same time the problems with discrimination that they have suffered as well shows how such things can lead to terrible tragedy. My experience in various war zones has shown thing like this again and and again…ignored by the rest of the world. Thanks for the heads up my friend.

Sleep on weekdays isn’t upto the mark, so the extra sleep during weekends helps 🙂 Wassup at ur end? Here, am spending evenings outside with friends before walking to office late at night. Staying awake end of shift is tough especially after a heavy breakfast at the office cafeteria 🙂

Hellooooo!!!Such a long time since my last visit!!!I am really happy to see you are still writing those interesting blogs. Well, there is nothing good before war when the tensions starts to accumulate, during war when there is destruction in terms of human and materially, and after war… where all is left is desolation and grief…. and those kids…. all those kids….Fortunately there is not only devil on earth but also angels like that Father Paul U. These people are the only sign that there is a hope to have good in each of us….somewhere…Hugs to you,Isa

Hope the fysio help heals the back soon. Sleep is more disturbed due to traffic noise during day rather than the "dinner"…I turn on the fan to get a rthymic noise to mute out the traffic sounds and then get into some warm clothes to get better sleep…working so far 🙂
