Fez a labyrinth.

Next stop Fez.

Its a long ride through the Middle Atlas mountains and vast plains of Tadla.

Agriculture and immense orchards……. its an ideal meeting place for nature lovers.

Fez. Its the cradle of a thousands years of monarchy. Its the spiritual centre of the traditional Morocco.

Here u see an example of a STREET

There are well known souhks and the leather painters. U can watch them from a higher level. These guys are working hard Crazy . The smell of ammonia is everywhere They use minth leaves in the nose. Its a smell like a 100year old filled toilet.

And this is the result of this hard work

 to be continued….

If you didn’t paint a picture of the place with your photos the description of the stench certainly did it!

Interesting post to think all that hard work went into producing those lovely shoes. Look forward to your next adventure. Enjoy your rest day although sounds quite busy to me.

  7. Love the photos and very eye opening story…. patiently awaiting follow-up. Already had some information concerning results of studies done with workers in these tanneries. The job is very dangerous and it is harmful to workers health. It will cause cancer. Many things seem to these days.

    • chicasl10 says:

i knew this was not good. The guys working in those circumstances
They stand with the legs in that fluid Eddie..There must be another way to do this work.
But i think the tourists want to see this..Wierd but ..well I dont know.really..

  8. It makes you wonder what it will do to the workers health as Eddie says… All so we can have beautiful leather.. A very interesting Post MJ, and love all those photos.. you gave us a good perspective of it.. thank you xx Sue

    • chicasl10 says:

Sue do u know how we get the coloured snake leather???? U better dont try to find that out.
Its Not normal How they do that.

      • Im thinking I do not want to even try to find out… as some of the things we do in the name of vanity is horrible.. ..
Wishing you a relaxing weekend MJ my friend, and take care.. xx Hugs xx
