Why God gave them wings.

God gave them wings.
What gives us the right to put them in a cage.

A cage of steel doth hold
wings of feather await to unfold
eyes dimmed seeking the sky
To the clouds it doth cry
Timely food a charmed prison cage
to the winds its heart beat rage
Lost its nest in trees tall
silent its song for loves call
displayed to world an ornament pet
natures bleeding heart doth forget
Birds of feather belong to sky
bird in a cage would thou fly

That’s why I never kept animals caged unless they were safer that way! 😦

    I’d never keep a bird that way… 😦

    Love and hugs!

    Prenin.

  2. It must be so cruel to know you can fly and yet be kept in a cage… My sister had a budgie but she let him out and he would fly of his own free will back to his cage…
I so dislike seeing the caged canaries in small cages with no shade in hot countries MJ…

We should all be aware… of captivity.
